Setup
guide for Alcatel Speedtouch PC PCI card
After
physically installing the card into a free PCI slot, restart your computer.
Windows will detect the card & ask for drivers. For Win98, point towards the 2364w98 folder, which should be on the supplied
CD.
If you are using XP then you may need to download the XP drivers from the
Drivers section as the early version of the CD did not have the XP drivers on it.
The downloaded zip file needs to be unzipped to an empty folder before you install the modem. Point the wizard to that folder.
Configuration
You’ll need to right click the ADSL icon in systray & select configuration

Enter
the settings as below.

After you make any changes, click on
Setting & the PVC Setup window will appear.
Click Yes for the changes to take effect which will reboot your computer.
Recheck that the settings have been correctly changed!
Look at the ADSL icon in systray. If it is red, then you’re not getting any ADSL signal.

If
it turns from blinking yellow > blinking green > black, then the modem has
synced & you should be ready to connect.

The Alcatel software will create it’s own DUN shortcut at the desktop. You’ll need to enter your username & password here. Alternatively, if you like a desktop free of clutter, you can enter the relevant info under the settings of
"Alcatel Connect" under Internet options / connections / dialup. I use the latter method & deleted the desktop shortcut. If you use the latter method, make sure that under advanced, the "disconnect if idle" & "disconnect when connection may no longer be needed" boxes are left unchecked. Also make the Alcatel Connect your default connection once your line has been enabled.
It appears that one CD dslsource released did not contain the 2364w98 folder. It can be found
